Content Creator/Marketing Assistant (2)

Note: These are Canada Summer Jobs positions dependent on funding approval. Candidates will need to meet CSJ program requirements.

 

Job openings: 2

Hours: 35 weekly

Wage: minimum $16.50/hour (flexible, depending on candidates and funding)

Location: Primarily remote, with a few on-site stays - accommodations provided.

The Content Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the digital brand presence of Four Corners Algonquin. This position will work closely with the digital marketing strategist to create, publish and manage content for the Four Corners Algonquin brand across various digital channels (social media, website, blog, email marketing).

The ideal candidates have experience with social media channels, are highly organized, proactive and willing to roll up their sleeves to assist the digital marketing strategist in realizing the vision for the brand. Expertise in the development of impactful multimedia content (i.e. creating reels with trending audio) and the desire to inspire more people to connect with nature is required. 

​

What You'll Do: 

Your goal will be to expand the brand presence of Four Corners Algonquin primarily through social media channels and blogging (SEO blogging).

  • Develop and manage the content calendar aligned with content strategy and brand objectives

  • Manage marketing schedules for social platforms and content, ensuring posts adhere to Four Corners Algonquin brand guidelines

  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Agency on the promotion of content (copy, strategy, timing): aligning with brand guidelines, including but not limited to copywriting, image sourcing and/or photography and videography. 

  • Monitor social media channels, including followers, engagement, comments, DMs

  • Provide tactical communications support, including social media publication 

  • Identify and report back on key performance indicators for consideration of future initiatives or projects

  • Work to improve digital marketing channels and optimize them to drive high quality traffic and leads through research based on media-related industry trends

  • Stay up to date on new trends in social media and provide ongoing recommendations for new social initiatives and tactics to deliver on strategic objectives and goals

  • Write SEO blogs with mentorship from a skilled SEO strategist and copywriter 

 

Skills required for success:

  • Attention to detail 

  • Exceptional communicator, both written and verbal

  • Professional or personal experience using social media for relationship building, outreach, and promotion.

  • Experience with developing content for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, (Pinterest is a nice to have)

  • Ability to take pictures and video on a mobile device, edit it and post to social media platforms 

  • Understanding and experience with creating online content with a focus on the user experience.

  • Knowledge of marketing, branding and strategic communications is considered an asset.

  • Strategic, creative and growth mindset

  • Can work autonomously and as part of a team.

  • Able to work on multiple projects, prioritize content, and manage time autonomously

  • Enrolled in a diploma or degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Marketing or related creative field

 

Other information 

  • Being onsite a few times throughout the summer will be required to capture creative content and support with event promotion (accommodations will be provided for these stays)
